As an eCommerce store operating within South Africa, this Refund & Returns Policy is aligned with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) while also protecting the integrity and safety of our handcrafted and hygienic products.
1. General Policy Overview
Due to the nature of our products (including essential oils, rollers, body mists, candles, and aromatic formulations), all refund requests are handled at the sole discretion of the owner of Talu Aromatics.
We reserve the right to assess each request individually based on product condition, hygiene considerations, and compliance with this policy.
2. Returns Eligibility (7-Day Window)
Returns are welcome within 7 (seven) calendar days from the date the package is received by the purchaser.
To be eligible for a return:
- The item must be unused and in its original condition
- The item must be sealed (where applicable) and not opened for hygiene reasons
- The item must be in original packaging
- Proof of purchase must be provided
For hygiene and safety reasons, opened essential oils, rollers, sprays, and body products may not qualify for return unless defective.
3. Refunds (Owner Discretion)
Refunds are not guaranteed and are issued solely at the discretion of the owner.
Refunds may be considered in the following cases:
- Damaged product on arrival (with photographic proof within 48 hours)
- Incorrect item received
- Manufacturing defect
If approved:
- Refunds will be processed via the original payment method where possible
- Processing times may vary depending on payment provider and banking timelines in South Africa
Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the error was on our part.
4. Return Shipping Costs
- All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser
- Talu Aromatics does not provide return shipping labels
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable
We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured courier service for all returns.
5. Risk of Loss During Return Transit
Talu Aromatics accepts no liability for any loss, theft, or damage of return parcels during transit.
The purchaser bears full responsibility for ensuring the safe return of the item.
Returns that are lost in transit will not be eligible for refunds or replacements.
6. Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery by emailing:

- Clear photos of the product and packaging
- Description of the issue
Failure to report within 48 hours may result in the claim being declined.
7. Non-Returnable Items
For health, hygiene, and product integrity reasons, the following items are generally non-returnable:
- Opened essential oils
- Used rollers or aromatic body products
- Custom or made-to-order items
- Clearance or sale items
Unless proven faulty upon delivery.
8. Compliance with South African Consumer Law
This policy operates in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa).
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under South African consumer law, particularly in cases of defective or unsafe goods.
